PLGNA 50th Anniversary Panel
Featuring Una Clarke, Ron Howell, Jerome Krase, Deborah Mutnick and more to be announced
Join the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Association for an enlightening panel discussion commemorating its 50th Anniversary. Founding and current members of PLGNA will speak about the organization's inception and early years fighting redlining and defending diversity in the 60s and 70s, and the impact various initiatives have had on the community over the years. Panelists include Dr. Una Clarke, the first Caribbean-born woman elected to the New York City's legislature, as well as a longtime PLG resident and former PLGNA activist; Brooklyn College Professor Ron Howell, a journalist and author of Boss of Black Brooklyn: The Life and Times of Bertram L. Baker; Brooklyn College Professor Jerome Krase, a former PLGNA Member and author of Seeing Cities Change and Race, Class and Gentrification in Brooklyn; LIU Brooklyn Professor Deborah Mutnick, PLGNA Board Member and project director of The Voices of Lefferts Community Writing and Publishing Project; and more to be announced.
