Paperback Launch: Stacy Schiff presents The Witches: Salem, 1692
In conversation with Paul Elie
Wine reception to follow

Acclaimed historian Stacy Schiff, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of the national bestseller Cleopatra, unpacks the mystery of the Salem Witch Trials in her new book The Witches, just released in paperback. The events that began in the winter of 1692 represent the first great American mystery, one of the only moments when women played a central role in the nation’s early history, and a trial that would shape the future republic. Schiff discusses the implications of the Massachusetts witch trials in terms of American ideas about religion, terror, gender, and history with Paul Elie, award-winning author of The Life You Save May Be Your Own and Reinventing Bach. A wine reception follows to celebrate the book’s New York launch.
