Greenlight Bookstore is honored to partner with NY Writers Coalition and Akashic Books to present the 12th annual Fort Greene Summer Literary Festival! This year’s event is held at the fantastic art / community space BRIC, and features young writers (6-18 years old) reading alongside published writers for an inspiring afternoon of literature. This year's lineup features three highly acclaimed young black women novelists: Nicole Dennis-Benn, author of Here Comes the Sun, Kaitlyn Greenidge, author of We Love You, Charlie Freeman, and Yaa Gyasi, author of Homegoing. Apogee Journal’s founding editor Chris Prioleau returns as the MC of this exciting event, bringing generations of writers together to build on the literary traditions of Fort Greene. A reception follows the reading with wine, lemonade and cake for all attendees.
