Join us for our new tradition of a Monthly Movie Night live on Flatbush Ave. Each month, we will feature classic books that have stood the test of time and their modern film counterparts that can hold their own. For Women's History Month, we'll be screening the movie Hidden Figures starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe. Based on the book Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly, the Oscar-nominated 2016 film adaptation tells the story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program. Read the book then come watch the movie, or come watch the movie then by the book—the choice is yours!
