Molly Wizenberg presents Delancey: A Man, a Woman, a Restaurant, a Marriage

Molly Wizenberg, author of The New York Times bestseller A Homemade Life and the food blog Orangette, recounts the story of opening a restaurant with her husband Brandon in her new memoir Delancey. Brandon’s decision to open a pizza restaurant in Seattle was the latest in a string of wild ideas, but before they knew it a lease was signed and restaurant was on its way to becoming reality. Together the couple built Delancey: gutting and renovating the space on a cobbled-together budget, developing a menu, hiring staff, passing inspections, and watching the restaurant become a success, until in the heat and pressure of the restaurant kitchen Molly realized that she hadn’t been honest with herself or Brandon. With evocative photos by Molly and twenty new recipes for the kind of simple, delicious food that chefs eat at home, Delancey is a moving and honest account of two young people learning to give in and let go in order to grow together. Wizenberg discusses her book and the food business with fellow food writer Francis Lam, a cookbook editor-at-large and judge on Top Chef Masters.
