Marie-Helene Bertino presents 2 A.M. At The Cat’s Pajamas
Drinks, refreshments and live music by jazz trio Lapis Luna

Brooklyn-based author Marie-Helene Bertino conjures the grime and magic of her native Philadelphia in her novel 2 A.M. At The Cat’s Pajamas, one of the most anticipated debuts of the season. A nine-year-old aspiring jazz singer, a lovelorn fifth grade teacher, and a nightclub owner about to lose it all are the three lost souls the novel follows through an eventful 24 hours, in a story Hannah Tinti calls “a recipe box full of wonders” and Jim Shepard calls “as winning and funny as the nine-year-old at its heart.” Greenlight is proud to host an early launch party for Bertino’s novel, already beloved by the bookstore staff, and a book which surely marks the start of a great career. Vintage jazz trio Lapis Luna opens the reading with some setting-appropriate jazz, and the post event reception features wine and treats from Marie-Helene’s favorite Philly sweet shop.
