Luke Goebel presents Fourteen Stories, None of Them are Yours
In conversation with Tobias Carroll
Hosted by Vol. 1 Brooklyn and the Franklin Park Reading Series
Wine reception to follow
Luke Goebel’s award-winning debut novel weaves heartbreaking, humorous, and provocative stories into one propulsive narrative. In kinetic and rhythmic language, the unnamed narrator of Fourteen Stories, None of Them Are Yours works to speak and write the experiences which haunt him. This tale of a delayed coming-of-age in a surreal postmodern America has drawn comparisons to work by American iconoclasts William Faulkner, Jack Kerouac, and Barry Hannah, and praise from contemporary luminaries Blake Butler, Padgett Powell and Jim Shepard. Goebel discusses his work tonight with fellow author Tobias Carroll of Vol. 1 Brooklyn, in an evening of reading and celebration co-hosted by the Franklin Park Reading Series.
