Book Launch: Leila Mottley presents Nightcrawling
In conversation with Diana Tejerina Miller!
We’re thrilled that former Oakland Youth Poet Laureate and author Leila Mottley will alight upon our Fort Greene event stage for the pre-publication launch of her debut novel. Nightcrawling is a dazzling novel about a young Black woman who walks the streets of Oakland and stumbles headlong into the failure of its justice system. Rich with raw beauty, electrifying intensity, and piercing vulnerability, Nightcrawling marks the stunning arrival of a voice unlike any we have heard before, one that “bursts at the seams of every page and swallows you whole” (Tommy Orange). It's our profound pleasure to welcome Mottley, in conversation with a special guest to be announced, for an evening of reading, conversation, and Q&A.
