Kelli Jo Ford presents Crooked Hallelujah
In conversation with Emily Nemens
Co-hosted by The Paris Review
The Paris Review joins Greenlight in hosting 2019 Plimpton Prize Winner Kelli Jo Ford for a conversation on her brilliant and powerful debut, Crooked Hallelujah, a novel-in-stories that follows four generations of Cherokee women across four decades. In lush and empathic prose, Ford depicts what this family of proud, stubborn, Cherokee women sacrifice for those they love, amid larger forces of history, religion, class, and culture. Crooked Hallelujah is a big-hearted and ambitious novel of the powerful bonds between mothers and daughters by an exquisite and rare new talent. Joining Ford in conversation is Emily Nemens, editor of The Paris Review and author of The Cactus League.
