Kate Payne presents The Hip Girl’s Guide to the Kitchen
Cooking demonstration and book signing

Greenlight Bookstore hosted Kate Payne in 2011 for a fantastic event for her first book, The Hip Girl’s Guide to Homemaking. With her new book, Kate is turning her focus to the kitchen, sharing thrifty tips on how to creatively run your kitchen for efficient, healthy, and homemade meals at the ever-ready. The Hip Girl’s Guide to the Kitchen is for those who dream of impressing their friends with a Pinterest-worthy dinner party, but who may lack the know-how. Brimming with helpful tips, all with budget in mind, and revealing both the health and environmental benefits of cooking and baking with fresh, whole ingredients, Kate’s book also has at its heart the important role that food plays in our well-being and our relationships with others. This evening, Kate will use produce from the Fort Greene Farmers Market for a demonstration of basic knife skills and the best way to slice veggies, as well as creating some fermented pickles!
