Book Launch: Justin Tinsley presents It Was All a Dream
In conversation with Rob Markman
On May 21, 2022, Christopher Wallace—better known as the Notorious B.I.G.—would have turned 50. One of the most charismatic and talented artists of the 1990s, Biggie was raised in Clinton Hill and Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn and lived an almost archetypal rap life: a loving mother, young trouble, drug-dealing, guns, prison, a giant hit record and the wealth and international superstardom that came with it, then a tragic, untimely death. Journalist Justin Tinsley presents a fresh, insightful telling of the life beyond the legend—It Was All a Dream is the story of where Biggie came from, the forces that shaped him, and the legacy he has left behind. Tinsley is joined at our Fort Greene store by journalist and musician Rob Markman for a special pre-publication conversation and an evening remembering and revering a rap legend.
