Jennifer duBois presents The Last Language

In conversation with Anna North

National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 Author and PEN/Hemingway finalist Jennifer DuBois returns to Greenlight to discuss her latest novel The Last Language. Angela, a speech therapist, recounts her sexual relationship with a disabled client from prison in the form of an unrepentant plea. As the sole narrator and perspective giver, Angela's understanding pushes and pulls us into ambiguity, like Nabokov's Humbert Humbert, as she tumbles deeper and deeper into obsession. We, the reader, are plunged into the inner workings of her mind as she rejects all else in pursuit of a more profound understanding of language and humanity. Greenlight is proud to present an evening celebrating Jennifer duBois, one of our most acclaimed contemporary writers, in conversation with Anna North (Outlawed).
