Book Launch: Heidi Diehl presents Lifelines
In conversation with Lauren Belski
Reception to follow
In her highly anticipated debut novel, Heidi Diehl explores the unbreakable bonds of family, as well as the ways in which history, art, and national identity shape a person. Lifelines follows Louise, first in 1971 as she builds one family, and then in 2008 when her current family collides with the former. Falling back into her past forces Louise to reckon with the life her choices have led her to and the life she might have had. Ramona Ausubel praises Lifelines as “an arresting portrait of selves left behind and selves discovered.” Joining Diehl in conversation is Lauren Belski, author of the story collection, Whatever Used to Grow Around Here. A wine reception follows to celebrate the book’s launch.
