Created by Greenlight’s own Angel Nafis, Greenlight’s quarterly Poetry Salon welcomes locally and nationally celebrated poets for an intense and joyful evening of wine, poetry, and performance. Tonight’s event features Corinna Bain, a gender-liminal writer and performer and three-time Pushcart nominee, presenting his debut collection Debridement; Jay Deshpande, named one of the top debut poets of 2015 by Poets and Writers, with his debut collection Love the Stranger; Natalie Diaz, a Lannan Literary Fellow who works with the last speakers of the Mojave language, author of the New York Times reviewed collection When My Brother Was an Aztec; and Greenlight’s Brooklyn neighbor Tiphanie Yanique, author of the celebrated novel Land of Love and Drowning, presenting her new poetry collection Wife.
