Go Home!: New Voices on the Asian Diaspora
Reading and panel discussion featuring contributors Chaya Babu, Gaiutra Bahadur, Kimiko Hahn, Alice Sola Kim, Jason Koo
Moderated by anthology editor Rowan Hisayo Buchanan
Co-presented by the Asian American Writers Workshop
Greenlight is thrilled to present a reading and panel discussion on the Asian diaspora, in celebration of a new anthology by the Feminist Press, published in collaboration with the Asian American Writers’ Workshop. In Go Home!, edited by Rowan Hisayo Buchanan, Asian diasporic writers imagine "home" in the twenty-first century through an array of fiction, memoir, and poetry. Both urgent and meditative, this anthology moves beyond the model-minority myth and showcases the singular intimacies of individuals figuring out what it means to belong. Anthology contributors Chaya Babu (2016 Buzzfeed Emerging Writers Fellow), Gaiutra Bahadur (Coolie Woman: The Odyssey of Indenture), Kimiko Hahn (Brain Fever), Alice Sola Kim (2016 Whiting Award Winner), and Jason Koo (America's Favorite Poem) read from their work and discuss the meaning of home, in a panel moderated by anthology editor Rowan Hisayo Buchanan.
