Author Francine Prose presents My New American Life

Reading, Reception & Signing

Hugely acclaimed author Francine Prose was born in Brooklyn and published her first novel at 26; since then she has received numerous awards for her work in fiction, children's literature and journalism, including the novels Blue Angel and A Changed Man and the New York Times nonfiction bestseller Reading Like A Writer. Her darkly comic new novel My New American Life turns Prose's satiric eye on the intersection of contemporary American culture and the immigrant experience. Set in the years following 9/11, the novel follows an Albanian immigrant who has landed a comfortable job as a nanny in the New Jersey suburbs; things get complicated when three of her countrymen appear on her employer's doorstep to ask a favor. Greenlight is honored to host Francine Prose with a reading and wine reception on this Friday evening.
