Melissa and Emily Elsen, the twenty-something sisters who are proprietors of the wildly popular Gowanus, Brooklyn pie shop and cafe Four & Twenty Blackbirds, have put together a pie-baking book that's anything but humble. This lavishly designed collection features more than sixty delectable pie recipes organized by season and a detailed and informative techniques section. At this evening’s event (a more in-depth look at the book preceding the Smorgasburg signing), Emily and Melissa will talk with Gabrielle Langholtz, editor of Edible Brooklyn and Edible Manhattan and long-time Four & Twenty Blackbirds fan, about the story of the pie shop and the cookbook. And of course, there will be pie for all (while supplies last)!
