Fiction Book Group with Alexis
Discussing The Anomaly by Hervé Le Tellier
Hosted by our neighbors at Die Stammkneipe Brooklyn (710 Fulton St.) and led by former Greenlight general manager Alexis, our fiction book group meets monthly to discuss paperback fiction, reading broadly in contemporary fiction with the occasional diversion into classics. For November, the group will discuss The Anomaly from French writer Hervé Le Tellier, translated by Adriana Hunter, winner of the Prix Goncourt and a New York Times bestseller and "Best Thriller of the Year." This dizzying, whip-smart novel blends crime, fantasy, sci-fi, and thriller as it plumbs the mysteries surrounding a Paris-New York flight. Who would we be if we had made different choices? Told that secret, left that relationship, written that book? We all wonder—the passengers of Air France 006 will find out. Le Tellier’s most ambitious work yet, The Anomaly is an ingenious, timely variation on the doppelgänger theme that taps into the parts of ourselves that elude us most.
