An Evening with Wave Books
Featuring Dorothea Lasky and Timothy Donnelly

Wave Books is an independent poetry press based in Seattle, Washington, dedicated to publishing exceptional contemporary poetry, poetry in translation, and writing by poets. The press was founded in 2005, merging with established publisher Verse Press. By publishing strong, innovative work in finely crafted editions, Wave hopes to continue to challenge the values and practices of readers and add to the collective sense of what’s possible in contemporary poetry. To celebrate this press, Greenlight hosts a reading with two Wave authors. Astro Poets co-author Dorothea Lasky presents her latest work, Animal, which constellates four central topics—ghosts, colors, animals, and bees—in highly attuned prose. Joining her is the award-winning author of The Cloud Corporation Timothy Donnelly, who presents his latest work, The Problem of the Many, in which the poet enlists agents as far flung as Prometheus, Flamin' Hot Cheetos, Jonah, NyQuil, and Alexander the Great to confront—from a contemporary vantage—the clutter (and devastation) that civilization has left us with.
