An Evening with Catapult
Karl Geary presents Montpelier Parade
Simeon Marsalis presents As Lie Is to Grin
Minna Zallman Proctor presents Landslide: True Stories
Greenlight is thrilled to partner with writing community and publishing house Catapult to present an evening celebrating some of its new authors. Founded in 2015, Catapult has already cemented its place in both the New York and digital literary worlds; its offerings include writing classes taught by acclaimed writers, an award-winning online magazine, and an open online platform for the wider writing community, in addition to published books. This evening, Karl Geary presents his critically-acclaimed debut novel Montpelier Parade, which explores an unconventional love affair between a teenage boy and an older woman set against 1980s working class Dublin. Simeon Marsalis presents his debut novel As Lie Is to Grin, a coming-of-age story that is haunted by a flawed American history, where a young African-American student struggles to define himself against a stark white campus. Minna Zallman Proctor presents Landslide, a collection of interconnected essays exploring the author's complicated relationship with her late mother, and the ways in which their relationship was the subtle force coursing beneath Proctor’s adulthood. Geary, Marsalis, and Zallman Proctor read from their books and discuss their work in conversation.
