With a dynamic mix of literary biography and urban history, Hughes takes us on a tour of Brooklyn past and present and reveals the story of more than a century of life in America's cities. Tonight, Evan takes us on a literal tour of Fort Greene’s place in Brooklyn’s literary saga, with a free walking tour of the neighborhood’s literary spots beginning at Greenlight at 6:30 PM. Then at 7:30, Evan sits down with longtime neighborhood resident Nelson George, author most recently of the novel The Plot Against Hip Hop as well as the memoir City Kid and numerous acclaimed works of music journalism, to talk about the literary history of Fort Greene and Brooklyn.
