Pre-publication Book Launch:
Emily St. John Mandel presents Station Eleven
In conversation with Emma Straub
Wine reception to follow
Emily St. John Mandel has long had passionate fans among independent booksellers and readers, who devoured her uniquely brainy and atmospheric novels Last Night in Montreal, The Singer’s Gun, and The Lola Quartet. Greenlight is honored and delighted to host the launch of Mandel’s explosive new novel Station Eleven, her first with a major publishing house, with a special reading, discussion and celebration one day before the official publication date. Set in the eerie days before and after a worldwide pandemic causes the collapse of civilization, Station Eleven tells the story of a famous actor, his friends and lovers, his would-be savior, and a nomadic group of actors roaming the scattered post-apocalyptic outposts of the Great Lakes region. Mandel talks about her work with friend and fellow Brooklyn author Emma Straub, author most recently of The Vacationers, and the book signing will be accompanied by a festive wine reception to mark the occasion.
