Acclaimed poet Elizabeth Metzger graces our Fort Greene events stage for the launch of her second full collection, Lying In: Poems. "All my life all I've wanted was to be myself / and someone else," writes Elizabeth Metzger, and so we see this in her newest collection tracing high-risk pregnancy and new motherhood amid grief. Aching and contemplative, Lying In is an exquisite portrait of an in-between time and of the person who emerges on the other side. "Isn't it obvious how we've changed?" Metzger is joined by Dorothea Lasky (The Shining, forthcoming) and Katie Peterson (Life in a Field) for an evening of verse and conversation.
