Brooklyn author Colin Beavan attracted international attention for his year-long “No Impact” lifestyle redesign project, which became the wildly popular book No Impact Man and inspired a Sundance-selected documentary film. With his new book, How to Be Alive: A Guide to the Kind of Happiness That Helps the World, Beavan extends a hand to everyone seeking more meaning and joy in life, while also addressing themselves to our various world crises. Described by Beavan as “each-other-help book” (rather than self-help), How to Be Alive has the power to open minds, transform lives, strengthen communities, and, yes, change the world. At this launch event, Beavan talks about the book and the project with Dan Harris, co-anchor of ABC News' Good Morning America and Nightline. The book launch afterparty for ticketholders at a nearby venue features an open bar sponsored by EcoScraps, a company that recycles food scraps into organic and sustainable lawn and garden products, and live music by local band The Secret Someones.
Each $26 ticket includes admission to the event and afterparty, as well as a copy of How To Be Alive; books are distributed at the event. Afterparty details to be announced to ticketholders. Tickets available here.
St. Joseph's College, Tuohy Hall is located at 245 Clinton Avenue (between Dekalb and Willoughby).
