With over 40 years of experience as a community leader, politician, minister and advocate, the Rev. Al Sharpton is one of America’s most-renowned civil rights leaders. Kings Theatre and Greenlight Bookstore welcome Rev. Sharpton to Brooklyn for the launch of his new book, Righteous Troublemakers: Untold Stories in the Social Justice Movement in America. In conversation with Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Sharpton will discuss the up-close-and-personal lessons he’s learned about the enduring strength of everyday people called to do extraordinary things, and the ongoing work that is necessary in the face of today’s national reckoning on race in America.
Join us for a celebration of the lesser-known heroes fighting to advance equal justice for all in an evening dedicated to those who have put their lives and livelihoods on the line for civil rights, women’s rights, LGBTQIA rights, and environmental justice.
