At Brooklyn Bridge Park

Greenlight is proud to participate in the sixth season of Books Beneath the Bridge, an outdoor literature series in Brooklyn Bridge Park, featuring six evenings curated by local independent bookstores. On Greenlight's featured Monday in August, it’s an evening of poetry in performance with a summer outdoor edition of our quarterly Greenlight Poetry Salon, hosted and curated by poet Angel Nafis! At this free outdoor event, poets and contributors to The Breakbeat Poets Vol. 2 celebrate black girl magic in a joyous evening underneath the glow of the Brooklyn Bridge. Tonight’s featured poets include Elizabeth Acevedo, author of the award-winning, New York Times bestselling novel-in-verse The Poet X; Camonghne Felix, poet, political strategist, cultural worker and author of Build Yourself a Boat and Yolk; and Safia Elhillo, Pushcart Prize nominee, Cave Canem fellow, and author of The January Children.
