The acclaimed poet and novelist Ben Lerner (The Topeka School, 10:04, Leaving the Atocha Station) returns to the Greenlight stage stage for the launch of The Lights: Poems. Written over a span of fifteen years, The Lights registers the pleasures, risks, and absurdities of making art and family and meaning against a backdrop of interlocking, accelerating crises, but for all their insight and critique, Lerner’s poems ultimately communicate—in their unpredictability, in their intensities—the promise of mysterious sources of lift and illumination. Lerner is joined by Paris Review editor Emily Stokes for a powerful evening of verse and conversation complete with wine reception.
