This is a poem style book that I have called musings. Each musing was inspired by having an addict in my life, my adult daughter. "Talk to You" is a title of one of the musings that came about as I struggled with communicating with the addict in my life. This was an outpouring of my love for my daughter yet the struggle I have trying to find balance and peace in that relationship. As I write and really think about me and my own feelings of loss, pain, fear and even love I have found a profound sense of peace.

There are 41 such topics addressed from my experience of 18 years loving an addict. I will always love her. But the struggle to maintain my peace and my own life goals while doing just that is the real challenge.

After each musing I have inserted a journaling prompt related to the topic of the musing. I have been active in a support group for family and friends of addicts which has made me keenly aware that so many of us have similar struggles. Start the dialogue even if it is with just you. You are worth it.
