Book Launch: Kirk Lynn presents Rules for Werewolves
Dramatic reading by New York actors
Wine reception to follow
Rules for Werewolves is the debut novel from acclaimed playwright Kirk Lynn: a visionary narrative about shelter, escape, family, violence, dumpster-diving, the mortgage crisis, and maybe, evil mythical beings. Toying with genre, the novel is narrated almost entirely through the unattributed dialogue of Malcolm, Tanya, Bobert, Susan, Anquille, and Angel; squatters, occupiers, invaders, and the “werewolves” of the book’s title. They’ve run away from their homes and their pasts, and now they’re roaming through the half-empty suburbs, never staying in one place long enough to attract attention. Lynn launches his book with a dramatic reading from the book at Greenlight, followed by a wine reception.
