NYC Book Launch: Karen Russell presents Vampires in the Lemon Grove
(A Greenlight First Editions Club Selection)
Karen Russell was named a National Book Foundation "5 Under 35" young writer honoree for her first book of short stories, St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves. Her novel Swamplandia! won the New York Public Library’s Young Lions Fiction Award, was long-listed for the Orange Prize, and was included in the New York Times' "10 Best Books of 2011.” Russell’s new short story collection, Vampires in the Lemon Grove, showcases her unmatchable originality, vitality and humanism in stories that infuse marital struggles, teenage longings and political awakenings with a sense of the uncanny and the magical that makes them loom larger than life, while highlighting their humor and poignancy. Greenlight is proud to present Russell’s book as a selection of our new First Editions Club and to host her first New York event for Vampires in the Lemon Grove.
Please note: Customers who purchase Russell's new book Vampires in the Lemon Grove from Greenlight will be given a pass with a group number indicating his/her place in the post-event signing line. Passes will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers without passes (did not buy their copy from Greenlight) and those with large quantities of books will be asked to wait at the end of the signing line.
