Jim St. Germain presents A Stone of Hope
In conversation with Quentin Vennie

Flatbush local Jim St. Germain presents his book A Stone of Hope, a searing memoir and clarion call to save our at-risk youth by a young black man who himself was a lost cause – until he landed in a rehabilitation program that saved his life. From abject poverty in Haiti to the streets of Crown Heights: by fifteen it seemed as if the walls of the system were closing in on Jim St. Germain when he was arrested for dealing crack cocaine. But instead of prison, he was placed in a non-secure detention facility designed for rehabilitation. Booklist calls A Stone of Hope, “visceral and unsparingly honest. Ultimately it is one of transformation and – most important – hope.” St. Germain presents his memoir in conversation with Quentin Vennie, author of Strong in the Broken Places: A Memoir of Addiction and Redemption Through Wellness, followed by a signing and Q&A.
