Please arive no earlier than 4:00 PM and no later than 7:00 PM. Getting to the event:
Greenlight Bookstore is easily accessible by public transportation. Take the C train to Lafayette Ave, G train to Fulton Street, or the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q or R trains or the Long Island Railroad to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. We do not recommend driving, as street parking is extremely limited in the neighborhood and paid parking lots are some distance from the bookstore.
The signing line will form outside of the bookstore, and will proceed on Fulton Street toward South Elliott. Please do NOT arrive or get in line any earlier than 4:00 PM on the day of the event. All ticketholders will meet Secretary Clinton and receive a signed book, so there is no need to reserve a place, and this will merely result in a longer wait for you. The signing will take place over several hours, so ticketholders may join the line as late as 7:00 PM and will have no problem getting their signed book and time for an interaction with Secretary Clinton. The bookstore will not be open during the day, and our bathroom will not be accessible before or during the signing; please plan accordingly. We recommend having a drink or dinner at one of Fort Greene’s many excellent bars and restaurants before or after you get your book signed!
Each ticketholder will receive a wristband, which entitles them to one signed copy of Secretary Clinton’s book What Happened. Ticketholders will have the option to purchase one additional book to have signed at the event: either a second copy of What Happened, or a copy of Clinton’s picture book for children, It Takes a Village (maximum two books total per ticketholder, available while supplies last). Books will be sold to ticketholders in the signing line using vouchers, and all books will be picked up inside the store after they are signed. No books or memorabilia may be brought inside the store, and no books or items other than What Happened and It Takes a Village will be signed. Books will be signed only; no personalization.
Ticketholders will be asked to show photo ID to receive an event wristband. (Note: we are aware that some tickets have been purchased by someone other than the person attending. As long as the person in line can reference the buyer's name so we can find their ticket, they don't need to be the same person who purchased the ticket; we will check their ID to confirm their identity but it doesn't need to match the purchaser name.) After receiving wristbands, ticketholders will be security screened by US Secret Service before proceeding inside the store. Please do NOT bring any large bags, food or drink, extra books, or memorabilia to this event, as they will not be permitted inside the store. There will be a bag check outside the store for items that cannot be brought inside; attendees may pick up their belongings after they exit the store. Any items brought inside the store will be subject to search and screening.
Cell phone photos may be taken while standing in the signing line, but visibility will be limited. Attendees will be asked to put away all phones and other devices before approaching the signing table, and no posed photos or selfies will be permitted.
If you have questions not answered here, please email firstname.lastname@example.org in advance of the event (phone calls will be referred to email).
