In conversation with Lisa Lucas
Wine reception to follow
Greenlight’s neighbor Hari Kunzru (The Impressionist, Gods Without Men) is widely regarded as one of the most talented fiction writers at work today. His new novel White Tears is the story of two ambitious young New York musicians who are drawn into the dark underworld of blues record collecting, haunted by a suppressed history of greed, envy, revenge, and exploitation. A ghost story, a murder mystery, a meditation on race, and a love letter to all the forgotten geniuses of American music, Kunzru’s novel brings the secret music of our past and present to life. Kunzru discusses his work with Lisa Lucas, Executive Director of the National Book Foundation.
