An Evening with Red Hen Press
Featuring Ellen Meeropol, Siel Ju, and Amy Hassinger
Wine reception to follow
Red Hen Press, a literary press based in the Los Angeles area, was founded in 1994 with the intention of keeping creative literature alive, and remains committed to publishing works of literary excellence, supporting diversity, and promoting literacy in local schools. Red Hen Press hosts three of its newly published authors at an evening celebrating the publisher’s mission. Ellen Meeropol presents her latest book Kinship of Clover, the story of a young man caught between political activism and extremism. Siel Ju presents her novel-in-stories Cake Time, about a young woman exploring the dark and complex undertones of her sexual encounters. Amy Hassinger presents After the Dam, a lyrical novel set in the wilds of the Wisconsin north woods about the transformative power of motherhood. Meeropol, Ju, and Hassinger read from their work, followed by a discussion and Q&A, along with a wine reception to celebrate Red Hen Press and its authors.
