Monday, June 13, 7:30 PM Between Parentheses: Celebrating the Nonfiction of Roberto Bolaño Galapagos Art Space, DUMBO (click here for directions) To celebrate the publication of Roberto Bolaño's collected nonfiction, publisher New Directions hosts some of the late Chilean writer's biggest admirers and champions as they they read from and discuss his essays, reviews, speeches, and personal thoughts. Joining us will be translator Natasha Wimmer, novelists Rivka Galchen and Francisco Goldman, Harper¹s contributing editor Wyatt Mason, and Paris Review editor Lorin Stein. Monday, June 13, 7:30 PM Sara Gran, author of Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead, talks with crime fiction expert Sarah Weinman Brooklyn native Sara Gran returns to the borough to celebrate the publication of her new novel Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead, already a favorite of the Greenlight staff and booksellers nationwide! Set in the rubble of post-Katrina New Orleans (where Gran lived for several years), the novel follows the eponymous detective, a hard-drinking clairvoyant loner schooled in the arcane ways of detecting by a mysterious book, as she attempts to solve a crime shrouded in the chaotic aftermath of the storm. Gran, who has written several previous works of noir fiction, discusses her work tonight with Sarah Weinman, currently the News Editor for Publishers Marketplace, who is also a writer of crime fiction and criticism.
